Hi everyone,
My husband and I have been ttc for almost 2 years now. I went to the Reproductive Medicine Group and seen Dr Yeko, I have to say he is an awesome Dr. but he told me that I was to young to have a baby and that I should loose weight before having a baby which was very discouraging since it is not easy to loose weight. So he put me on yasmin and met I was just wondering if I stop taking the yasmin will the met still help me have af? Since I can only have one with help. Also it is just so nice to know that there is people just like me going through the same thing that I'm going through.
Any information will help me out a lot since I don't know that much about PCOS.

Brandi, welcome and good luck to you! I haven't been on met long enough for it to regulate my cycles but a lot of women say that it has done so for them. I think there are women who've gotten pregnant from met alone. Other ladies swear it was losing weight that helped them conceive or, a combination of both.
I also go to Repro Med Grp in Tampa. But I think it's weird for any doctor to tell you you're too young to have children. What the heck is that about??

Hello, I am new to the forum and reading through posts. I wish I has some advice though experience, but I am just getting started.
I was mainly concerned that your doc told you you were to young to have a baby. IMHO unless his is advising such because of an underlying medical condition, then who is he to say?
I would ask him about that remark.
Well wishes!

I am on Metformin for 3 months now... my periods actually fell a lil more out of whack then being regular- i got my period almost a week early this past month, But for those with irregular periods.. it is suppose to regulate it. My BFF was regular within 2 months, though I also read that ONLY 7% of women on Metformin ONLY (nothing else or no exercise) get pregnant... my BFF was one of those- most of the time its metformin along with losing weight or some sort of other meds. Why would he put you on Yasmin... you WANT to become preggy correct? If that is the case? then stop the Yasmin! :)

I am in the same place as you right now, we have been ttc for about 14months and found out I had pcos this past oct. after meny months of wacky periods i was put on yaz. only to have it make me even more out of wack and bleed for 30+ days. I was just put on another bcp and so far so good. I had a 3wks and then a week period, yippy!
My question would be are your periods out of wack- being too long or too far apart? If you period is out of wack it might be important for you to take the bcp to help get you back on track to a "normal" period.
I am on the met. now and so far things have been doing good, 29lbs. lost and 25 to go. I lost the first 25 without working out just small changes in my eatting.

I have noticed since i start met that my eating habits have changed... im not eating as much! Yay! but the funny thing is this month i didnt ovulate when i thought i would, my BBT said one thing, the ovulation kit said negative & my mucus didnt come til like 2 days after i was to ovulate/ 3 days after my BBT reached 98.02 at one time. Lets see what happens!
