I wanted to share my experience so far with Met and my menstrual cycle...Well I have been on Met for a little over a year and a half but on BC in conjunction with it until a little over 2 months ago...I have been on BC since I was about 16 with little break in b/w and now 27 years old...I decided I wanted to give my body a break and see how it fares with Met alone...though I am not TTC so couldn't tell you about that...However...the first month I got AF 28 days to the day...2nd month got a little nervous...but I got another AF that was only 2 weeks late, which is good for my body! I hope that it continues and just wanted to share/maybe give hope....Keeping my weight down, exercising, eating fairly well, and taking supplements...anyone have similar or dissimilar experiences?

my experience is quite odd to me... the first time i started / took met (just a few months ago end of april) i started an AF a week later - a normal, 5 day long AF. that was right after i started on 500mg. NOW, im up to 1500mg and havent had a normal one, or one at all since! i had to take provera last month to have an AF and that was awful. I was hormonal and the F itself was awful. ive only been on it 4 months, so im going to give it another 2 and just hope that something straightens out ;)

Jessie I hear it can take up to 6 months or longer for the Met to start working (your body probably takes a while to adjust and start working properly), I would definitely give it time and make sure you're following it up with low glycemic index diet/exercise...Leila Im sorry to hear, good luck with the changes...in all reality the same might happen to me but then maybe it will be time for me to ask for an increase to 1500 mg...I'm crossing my fingers though and taking it 1 month at a time :/
