I AM LOOKING FOR HELP FINDING A DR WITH A CLUE!!!!?????

I had been going to my Dr for years. Asking what was wrong with me. I am signifigantly overweight, have male pattern baldness, and facial hair.
I spend my days, covering my thinning hair and having my upper lip and chin waxed. I had done weight watchers and lost 7lbs over 6 weeks. I WAS SO FRUSTRATED WHEN THE OTHERS WERE LOSING 7 LBS A WEEK!!!!! Althought i am not TTC.... The only time in my adult life when i did not battle my weight is when i was pregnant.

I found out about this disease by accident. After researching it and discovering I had a large percent of the listed symptoms I printed out the information and took it to my Dr. Basically, I told him PROVE I DONT HAVE THIS!!!! And needless to say, here I am and he couldnt prove it. I have since been to 2 other doctors and an endocronologist. None of which seem to want to take the time to deal with this problem. So thanks to this WONDERFUL SITE!!! I come to you looking for help.

HOW THE HECK DO I FIND A GOOD DOCTOR WTIH A CLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was on the Metfromin and it did work to decrease my insulin level... but the side effects for me were awful. Horrible GI upset and lethargy. I was on it for 2 1/2 months. I stopped taking it 10 days ago and actually I feel great. But, obviously it would be stupid of me to ignore the problem. So I need to find someone with some alternatives, and some realistic information or dealing with this disease.

ANY INFORMATION YOU CAN GIVE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

I am in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin

I hope you have found a Dr already, but if you have not, I go to the clinic at Froedhert Hospital in Milwaukee. There are a couple in MLW. I'm not exactly sure where twin lakes is. There are also two new infertility clinics that are opening in Madison.

Hope this helps!

Look at the teaching institutions.... hospitals, med schools, etc.

They are usually more up with current methodolgies and have more resources at their fingertips.

My doc is a professor at Baylor College of Medicine and a Mensa (which means he's brilliant!).
