Provera???

Hello all...

Last Wednesday, my Dr. wrote me a script for Provera (10 pills.)
Her instructions were to take the pill for ten days.

She then said that after the 10th day, I would have a full period.
Then within 5 days of taking the last Provera pill, I should then
begin taking my Yasmin Birth Control Pills.

Well - today is my 5th day of taking the Provera. Starting the first day of taking it, I started bleeding (what seemed like a 'normal' period, along with cramps.) I bled like that until yesterday (the 4th day) and it was kinda heavy.

So today I wake up, and there is nothing, though I am still having cramps, but no bleeding. I'm wondering if this was my period, and if so, would I have to start taking my birth control pills?

I'm afraid that this WAS my period, and if I wait until after then 10th Provera pill, I won't be able to take the birth control pills.

Any thoughts?

Your period can start while taking provera. It has happened to me a few times. Call your doc to let them know what happened. He may have you go ahead and start the bcp.

Thanks so much for the reply! I just got back from the ladies room, and lo-and-behold, I'm bleeding again.

I don't know if I should just continue the pills or what...it's embarrassing that I don't know what to do...lol :oops:

It's been so long since I've had a period, I just don't know what to expect, especially on this Provera...

If it was and what I have done in the past was stop taking te provera , call and let your doc know whats going on and start your bcp when you are suppose to.

I've been having my peiods induced for over 10 years. Some women do start before all the pills are gone and others,like me lately, wait a few days to 2 weeks to start.

Let me know what happens. Don't be embarrssed it's a learning process for us all. :D
