Hi there - my name is Kari. I'm 23 years old from S.E. Michigan (greater Detroit area).
I was diagnosed as having PCOS on August 2nd of this year. Though it shouldn't have been much of a shock for me (as I've always suspected it) - it did shock me. I think actually hearing it from the doctor scared me.
So because I haven't ovulated in years, my doctor has me on Provera for 10 days to induce my period. After the 10 days, I will then start my Yasmin BCP's.
I am also currently on my 4th day of Metformin (500mg) 4x daily. I am slowly working my way up on the meds...so far the side effects have been minimal.
I am also overweight as well...I currently weight 316 lbs. This has been a wake up call for me, and I know that I need to start taking care of myself. I am going to start a walking regimen soon, and begin working on my diet (which is not very healthy right now, and consists mainly of carbs.)
