Met Question

I was just officially diagnosed last Thursday and just picked up my prescription. I haven't spoken with my Dr. yet, but I was just wondering if maybe someone could answer this question? Is Met something I might be taking forever, or is it something to get me jumpstarted? I am assuming everyone is different, but I am very impatient and hate waiting for the Dr. to call me back.

mellon-- I think that everyone is different, so the duration of time that you take the met could vary. Some women stay on it forever, some only for a little bit of time. I would say that if your doc thinks that you are IR and thus has prescribed the met, it would be wise to say you are going to be taking it for a long time...or unless otherwise advised...just my opinion.

Most women do stay on met for a long time, but there are other women who opt to do the herbal form of treatment. So if met doesn't work for you then perhaps you should talk to your doc about herbal alternatives.
