Metformin HCL 500 MG

Hey there,

I am new here. I am wondering if anyone is on Metformin HCL 500 mg twice a day and is trying to conceive. I have been on this medication for about a year now and I am currently trying to conceive. Is anyone having trouble conceiving or did anyone have good success. I am hoping someone can shine some light on.

When I was first put on Metformin, I took 500mg twice/day for about a month. I felt much improvement, but still no cycle. When I upped my dose to 1500mg/day (500mg 3x per day), I got my period within a week, and got pregnant in the next cycle after 2 years of trying! For me, the correct dose of the Metformin was definitely the key.

When I was diagnosed in March of 2005 I was put on 500MG of Met by itself. A month an a half later I was pregnant and in Dec of 2005 I had my son. So being on Met alone did work for me.
