Hi everone,

I just wanted to place a post to see if any of you have heard of "the healthy chocolate" called Xocai. I live in Canada and I hear it is pretty popular in the US. I thought it would be of some interest to us PCOS'ers as most of us have a sweet tooth (I know I do!) and on the other hand we struggle with weight and have to watch the GI content of foods.
This chocolate is different than regular chocolate in that it is cold processed (something this company has patented) which helps to maintain all the healthy properties of dark chocolate. It is sweetened by raw cane sugar juice, blueberries, grapes & Acai berry. The chocolate has been tested on the ORAC scale (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) and 3 small squares are equivalent as 12lbs of tomatoes or 2lbs of spinach in antioxidents.

It has also been shown to:
reduce weight
reduce blood pressure
decrease amount of insulin a diabetic has to use
improve mood
normalize blood sugar levels
increases energy
normalizes appetite
along with many other things but I didn't think you wanted to read a novel.

A friend of mine just introduced me to this product and I wanted to share the info with you. She has seen benefits and feels satisfied not to eat regular chocolate or to over eat as well as and increase in mood & energy. I'm going to try it out and will let you know what I think of it.

I am interested in finding out what effect this has for you! Like most things that are the "latest and greatest", I am a little suspicious of them, but if it works, why not?

Just keep in mind how much it costs vs. how much benefit you get out of it, and that anything sweet will need to be balanced out with something either high fibre or high protein.

Other than that, I say give it a shot! :)

Keep us updated! :D
