YAZ UPDATE! :-)

So It's been officially one week since starting YAZ. I love it. Well so far at least :lol: I am noticing I am starting to crave certain things, so i'm going to have to keep an eye on that so i don't go crazy on the ice cream and chips, together at the same time :lol: but I haven' really gained weight. i'm kind of at a tough point in my diagnosis where I'm having trouble staying motivated, so i haven't been as good as I should be on my diet by any means, nor have I been running in like 2 weeks :oops: :shock: But I haven't gained any weight..just hovering where I was, which is good, but I do have to start exercising again...I am aware! Lets see...No hair loss yet, don't know if I'd notice it after a week...just pretty bad dandruff..but it's summer, and i had used a new shampoo which I think might be the culprit. I am NOT NAUSEAS! (SP) which I am so pumped about, becasue you're reading stuff from the sick to her stomach QUEEN! I take the pill with dinner around the same time every night. I also did have a bout with Diarrhea sorry if TMI the first 3 days , but it's gotten much better..and gone now. After hearing the horror stories some people had with Yasmine I have to say...I was def nervous,,,but so far so good. Just letting people know so if it's something you would like to try , it works for me (so far at least) . I hated every other BCP i tried...but like this one so far...and this one is the lowest amount of estrogen that they make right now...ok HTH! :) 8)

Funny, I had not heard of YAZ until your post, but now I'm seeing commercials for it on TV all the time! Sounds like a great idea!

Thank you for the update on Yaz. I am new to the board and I have never been on birth control before. After I had my son in Dec. 2006 my dr. assistant put me back on 500MG of Metformin (I orginally was on 1000MG). and just last month after I was 6 days late for AF, my dr.s assistant put me on an extra 500MG of Metfromin. And becasue of the scare my husband and I decided to go on birth control. My doctor prescribed me to Yasmin. I just got the perscription and I am waiting to be able to take my first dose. I am a little concern to be taking it b/c of the fact that I am also taking Diovan. But I hope that all goes well for me as it is for you. Thank you.

I hope it goes well for you. I know they are similar drugs but one has a different estrogen amount. The only thing I've noticed now so far..is I'm kind of moody. I am all emotional and stuff like I have my AF, but I seem to do this whenever I'm on BCPs. So hopefully it'll even itself out! Good luck!

i thought yaz was great teh first week but it turns out week A and 3 were terrible and tearful and 4 was so- so...i am ion my 5th week and praying i dont start crying again...it was bad...

I liked YAZ except after a month the mood swings were horrible, and once I started my period..it didn't stop for 3 weeks :-( I then stopped the pill
