I have PCOS and I am 16 weeks pregnant. My new (sigh) Dr. isn’t sure if he wants me to continue taking Metmorfin since I am out of my 1st timester. I am having a hard time finding much information about the advantage/disadvantages of taking it now. My fertility (re) Dr. once told me I would take it during my whole pregnancy and possibly much longer. I no longer go to him, as he is over an hour away.
Is anyone familiar with this?

My dr told me at my last appointmet (8 weeks) That I would stay on my metformin all through my pregnancy.
This is a highly debated topic among doctors. Some say to go off immediatley after finding out you're pregnant, others say to stay on through 1st trimester, others for the entire pregnancy. My experience was my re said to go off it as soon as I got pregnant, my ob said to go off after 1st trimester. I did what I felt right doing and went off after my 8 week u/s when we saw the baby moving and heard his heartbeat. Apparently some research shows that staying on prevents m/c, but some doctors feel that not enough research has been done on it. I think you should listen to your doctors reasoning and then do what you feel comfortable with!

You will get various opinions on this topic.
I was on MET until 20w. I was SO scared to come off it, but did so after my 20w scan. My OB told me to come off it as soon as I found out I was pregnant, but I stayed on it despite her advice, I just didn't tell her. Probably because I had a m/c at 15w prior to this pregnancy.
My son is nearly 8w old now.
Good luck whichever way you decide to go.
what is the danger/risks of taking met during preg? i dont see what the big deal is... does it harm the bubs in anyway?
It cant be too dangerous otherwise they wouldnt give it to ppl who are ttc

I stayed on Met until 11 weeks with Nathan and he is fine :). I've been on it the entire time this pregnancy and will continue it.
For me, I have insulin resistance pretty bad and the doctor felt treating that was pretty important. I ended up with gestational diabetes this time and am continuing the Met as part of my treatment. So far, I haven't needed anything else to keep my sugar under control. :)
Like the other ladies said, talk to your doctor about it and then do what you feel comfortable with.
can being insulin res effect the baby while you are preggers?
