View Full Version : Don't Know Much About PCOS

I am really kind of scared about this whole ordeal. :( I don't know much about the symptoms or what PCOS prevents or contributes to. I know that I need to go on a diet, but how do I do that if I don't have enough willpower. I see food and think yum, just a little bit of this won't hurt, then I convince myself of that over and over, until I am virtually no longer on a diet.
Can anyone help me? I'm scared that I won't be able to live a normal life with this syndrome.
By the way, I am 15 years of age. I live in Ontario Canada.

Guilty...it's too hard to diet. I like my food! :( Particularly the nice tasting nasties...:'( it's just not fair.
I can try but then i'll get hunger pains, and i'm like no...no...no, can't...and then before i know it, damn shouldn't have eaten that.
Why must they tease me so?
I need the motivation to diet, and to diet properly, i just don't have it yet. And i'd rather eat what i can for now than have to be on a life long diet starting yesterday. I wanna enjoy my life right now. Hello, 15 here! I'm too young to be someone constantly worried about health. :( hmmph!

I knew that I wasn't the only one out there! Only three people have taken the poll, yet the results weren't as I had expected. I guess it proves that everyone has problems with food.

The thing is...dieting takes guts and willpower, mostly the willpower. I'm just too weak, but have decided I really do need to diet, it's quite funny something i keep putting off it's like 'Tomorrow, i'll eat healthily!' oh well....one day it WILL happen! lol

i've learned alot about dieting. It is hard at first but you have to stay focused on why you're doing it. Yea there are times when you get cravings. Say you diet for 6 days and one day you get to eat a treat (like something you were craving during the week...like ice cream or chocolate or potato chips..eat it on the day BUT DON'T GO OVERBOARD!!). I've learned that it is alot easier to eat healthy than to go on a strick diet (like low carbs or somethin). Like for breakfast eat oatmeal or a couple pieces of toast(or a biscuit) w/ light butter and light jelly and a fruit and like 2 pieces of lean meat(turkey bacon is soo good!!) for lunch eat lite a meat, veggie, and fruit and starch (i.e.sandwich, chips( the new light lays chips are really good), a fruit and drink water. for dinner eat a meat, a vegetable, fruit, starch. like grilled chicken some steamed veggies some fruit(your choice....you can do it as a dessert b/c fruit is naturally sweet it can soothe that sweet toothe and its healthy for ya too!!) and a roll (whole wheat!!) hope that helps!! Exercising helps too!! It will get you energized and help you lose the weight!! Try Tae-Bo!! Billy Blanks will get you sweating and its fun!! :D :D
if you have any ?? you can pm me!!

That sounds pretty cool, what does Tae-Bo involve?

i just bought a new one its called Tae-Bo Fat Blasting Cardio...its kinda intense. I would start with Tae-Bo Basics its really easy and you can get in the groove of it easier. Its mainly punching and kicking and moving...its about 30 mins long...you start with stretches then you move into the moves and then at the end you cool down. It will get you sweating! The Cardio one is very upbeat....you move a whole lot more and are working more parts of your body. Its very good cardio...you're moving the whole time (with kicks and punches, etc.) Its really fun (but it depends on how and what you like to do when you're working out).

That does sound interesting. But one of the thing that discourages me is the same thing over and over again. Are there any challenges to Tae-Bo? Like maybe different levels or something, because I don't think I would be able to stick to something that was repetitive. But then again, maybe Tae-Bo is what I need to help me get active.

yea there are different levels... start with Tae-Bo Basics and the try the other ones...not really sure of what others they have. Pilates is good for toning and days you don't feel like sweating! :D
