Hello,

I am looking for a GYN/OB in Nassau County in the New Hyde Park to Hicksville/Syosset area of Long Island. However, I am willing to branch out in Nassau County for a good physician. I was diagnosed with PCOS but, without any real testing so, I don't know if I truly have it. However, based on my research, it seems that I do.

Long Island is my first choice but, I also work in Midtown, NYC so, that is another possibility.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Take care.

I live in Florida, but I took my daughter (age 16 and newly diagnosed with PCOS) to a doctor in Manhattan NY. We could not find a doctor here that knew enough about PCOS. We took her to see the endocronologist Dr. Geoffrey Redmond. He specializes in PCOS and we are very happy with him. Before you see a doctor, I strongly reccommend that you are sure that he specializes in PCOS. I found that many doctors will say they know about it, but they really don't understand how to truly diagnose and treat it. Also, an endocronologist most often knows more about PCOS than an gynocologist. However, remember that there are many endo.s who don't know very much at all about it. Another endo. in Manhatten that I know of that has an excellent reputation is a Dr. Feitterweit (I don't know if I spelled that correctly). You can look either of these doctors up on the internet.

Thanks "mom". I appreciate the advice.

I will look into endocronologists as well as GYNs. I will also investigate Dr. Redmond. I do remember reading some posts that included the Dr. F. that you mentioned on one of the threads for New York. I will search for that again.

Take care.

No problem-let me know if you decide to see either of these doctors and how it goes for you when you do? Good Luck!
