Anyone on Avandia?

I was just wondering if anyone here is on Avandia? Does it work the same as Metformin, will it help me to lose weight?

I was on Avandia for several years. I don't think it helped me lose weight, it was mostly diet and exercise. I'm not on metformin (again) as I am TTC, and not really losing much on this either. I stopped Avandia last November and controlled my diabetes with diet and exercise.

But Avandia more than met can make you gain weight. If I ever need to go back on meds for diabetes, I'd choose Avandia. No gastro s/e, same level of blood sugar control.

i am on an avandia metformin combo...i have done some research on avandia and it can actually make you gain weight but it can also restore ovulation by increasing your insulin sensitivity
