I was wondering because I'm having a hard time adjusting to the diet and planning. :( Do anyone monitor there "sugar" levels or is that unneccesary. I was going to go out and buy a glucose meter kit. Sometimes I eat things and I feel worse. I'm not even sure the meter would work because alot of my blood test came back normal.

My ARNP had me monitor my fasting morning sugars. It was very helpful in figuring out what I could eat and what would have me messed up the next day.

It all depends on how far along your IR is. Your blood sugars don't really go up until the IR has progressed to the point where it's starting to turn into diabetes, so it may not show for you, especially if your bloodwork always turns out "normal".

I would say, if you have a relative with diabetes who has an extra one, then maybe buy some test strips and use that one, but otherwise, it's probably not going to be that helpful. Remember, it's really INSULIN levels you would need to see, and there's no home tester for that!
